Maria Rain, June 2025 – On Friday, June 27th, SOT Medical Systems hosted its annual summer party at company headquarters on Alte Hollenburgerstraße in Maria Rain – this time for a very special reason: 20 years of AngE™.
Together with employees, their families and long-time companions, we celebrated this milestone with a relaxed BBQ afternoon that lasted into the evening hours. Highlights included an immediately legendary SOT Bulli and the opportunity to try out a vascular check on site. Among the many guests was the Mayor of Maria Rain, Prof. Franz Ragger (SPÖ), who, together with his wife, congratulated the SOT team on 20 years of AngE™ with a celebratory cake (picture on the right, second person from the left).
The summer gathering was a welcome moment for informal exchange beyond day-to-day operations – and a chance to reflect on two decades of innovation in vascular diagnostics. The SOT team thanks everyone who joined and looks forward to many more years of shared success.

The 2025 Summer Party offered more than one reason to celebrate: the family-run company Sonotechnik SOT Medical Systems marked the 10-year anniversary of its company headquarters in Maria Rain, as well as – as previously mentioned – 20 years since the launch and approval of the first AngE™ Angio Experience System for arterial vascular diagnostics. In 2026, the company will go on to celebrate its 40th anniversary.
The 15 employees based in Maria Rain develop, produce, and sell the systems to distribution partners in over 25 countries, with the Arab and Southeast Asian regions becoming increasingly important.
The significance of these products becomes especially clear when considering that nearly all vascular clinics in Austria use SOT systems and many general practitioners also rely on the quality and precision of SOT devices.
Strong connections with research institutions such as universities of applied sciences, technical universities and university hospitals enable continuous innovation and forward-looking improvements to SOT systems. These developments also benefit venous diagnostics and make examinations for conditions like diabetic foot syndrome easier and more effective.
As a family business, SOT looks ahead to a promising future: the third generation is already preparing to take the lead – with a clear mission to raise awareness about the importance of regular vascular health checks and to continue developing user-friendly, state-of-the-art diagnostic tools (including 3D visualizations) in the years to come.
